Gifts and Gratefulness

So I've never been the best at receiving gifts, funny as it seems its true.  I feel guilty that sometimes I can not give back as much, or my desire to give so they can feel the same sense of love and care I have.  So I'm learning in life that it is a beautiful thing to freely receive a gift someone has purchased or donated or maybe given their time.  I take it to heart and store it away.  But love like that does not just sit dormant, it overflows, it wants to give back to someone else who may be in need...in need of food, clothes, but maybe just a listening ear or even compassion or acceptance.  It awakens my heart to receive a gift, to give one, and stirs up desire and question to my own life, what blessings do I already have and what can I give of myself.

So as I've been meditating on this... I'm thinking that it is not so ironic... God gives freely gifts of His love, His Spirit, His Grace, ...Man, seriously I could go on forever...But how do we receive these things sometimes.  Some might think we don't need these gifts, some might think they don't deserve these gifts, so we pass them by and go on.  But when we do by faith accept these wonders we are ever so richly blessed.  Our hearts are full of living hope and joy beyond our understanding.

For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees?

But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance. -Romans 3:24-25 So I may not always have the right words to say or a way to show how Grateful I truly am, but know it is never forgotten and it is truly cherished, and yes,  like a river keeps flowing, it overflows into desire to bless others.

He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?  -Romans 8:32
